Specialist catering facilities provider, Dawsonrentals temporary kitchens, succeeded in meeting the crucial demands set by a prestigious nursing home based in St John’s Wood. Greathed Lodge, a care home for up to 29 residents, maintains a consistent high standard and was in need for a specialist temporary kitchens supplier that could match the home’s objectives.

Amongst the challenges facing Dawsonrentals was the need for the kitchen to be compact enough to be sighted in the home’s small car park. Not only was this the only space available, the fact that it was in a highly visible location to the public meant it was vital for the unit to be visually presentable, to fit in with the home’s impeccable image. The equipment specification inside the kitchen also needed to match that already used by the home’s catering staff. All this needed to be achieved promptly with a high degree of excellence from both the product and service.

The ideal solution was delivered in the form of a custom-built Companion MK.2. Causing minimum disruption to residents, the kitchen was set-up and ready to use within two hours and was highly integrated with the look and feel of the nursing home. Dawsonrentals also supplied a dishwasher for use in the home itself, further helping to keep disruption to a minimum.

Offering exceptional functionality combined with the latest cutting edge design, the Companion exceeded all necessary criteria whilst still allowing staff to continue serving carefully-devised menus. The specification included a compact kitchen (measuring 4.1m x 2.9m) and interchangeable equipment, including a six burner range, double oven, double basket fryer, salamander grill and upright fridge and freezer.

Dawsonrentals temporary kitchens secured the 13-week contract deal with Madlin & Maddison, a long-established firm of chartered surveyors who are experts in advising on project design and specification for construction and refurbishment for properties throughout the UK. The company is overseeing the refurbishment project at Greathed Lodge.
